Mason City robber now listed as escaped felon

May 30, 2016 By O. Kay Henderson

Police are looking for a 29-year-old man who failed to return to a work release facility in Marshalltown yesterday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Michael Compston was doing time for robbing a Mason City convenience store in 2006. He failed to return from an “authorized furlough” and is now listed as an escaped felon.

Compston is white, about six feet tall, with a tattoo on his neck and piercings in both ears and his left eyebrow.

He has a domestic abuse charge on his record and about 10 years ago he was arrested for robbing someone in a Mason City apartment.
