Irwin man dies in motorcycle accident in Shelby County

State-Patrol-car-backA weekend accident in western Iowa claimed the life of a Shelby County man.

Forty-six-year-old Cole Jon Andersen, of Irwin, died, after the 2004 Yamaha motorcycle he was riding was struck from behind by a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, as both the cycle and a car were traveling south on Shelby County Road M-47, a little south of 1700th Street.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m., Saturday. The Iowa State Patrol identified the driver of the car, as 41-year-old David Michael Hirsh of Irwin.
