Missouri Patrol says Ankeny and Woodward men drowned at Lake of Ozarks

August 1, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Update: This story was corrected on 8/2 as an initial report said Michel swam out first, but it was Seeman.  The two men were brothers-in-law.

Two Iowa men drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks this morning.

The Missouri State Patrol says 40-year-old Jacob Seeman of Woodward had a medical condition while swimming out to a boat that had drifted away from a dock in the Big Niangua Arm.

The MSP says 46-year-old Dennis Michel of Ankeny swam out to help, but both went under the water and did not make it back to shore.

Thanks to Alisa Nelson of the Missourinet
