August 24, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Sheriff-vehicle-300x191At least one person has died in the flooding in northeast Iowa.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department reports several agencies spent several hours searching for a man who called 911 and said he was trapped on the roof of his pickup truck. That was around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Searchers found a vehicle, with no one inside, sitting in floodwaters near Lawler later that morning. They found the body of the man between Lawler and Protivin Wednesday afternoon.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.
