Discovery of bats in the building delays start of school at George-Little Rock

August 18, 2017 By Matt Kelley

George Little Rock High School.

A colony of bats has extended summer vacation for some school kids in northwest Iowa.

Classes at George-Little Rock were scheduled to begin next Wednesday, but superintendent John Eyerly recently announced the start date would be pushed to Monday, August 28th after a colony of bats was discovered in a second-floor high school office.

A pest control company is removing the bats and some new insulation will be installed.
