Rescue crews from several north-central counties helped with a weekend river search and rescue in Hardin County.
The Eldora Fire and Rescue Department was notified of a report of a woman missing along the river at around 5 p.m. Saturday.
Both the Grundy and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Offices deployed drones to assist in the search.
The Webster City Police Department deployed a K-9 team.
Aircraft with thermal imaging from the Iowa State Patrol was used.
The Iowa Falls Fire Department deployed a boat to search the river.
Due to the low water levels, crews were required to conduct a river search on foot. The search ended at around 11 Saturday night when the woman was found safe and alive by the rescuers.
She was later checked over by EMS personnel at the scene and released.
