A Tennessee man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he drove to Iowa to sexually assault a girl.
The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office says it learned last October that 22-year-old Reuben Justice of Chattanooga, Tennessee, communicated online with a female minor from Iowa under the age of 13.
Justice allegedly drove 10-11 hours from Tennessee to Wapello County, picked up the child, and took her to a short-term vacation residence in neighboring Jefferson County, where he sexually assaulted her.
The sheriff’s office says Justice was apprehended in Tennessee last week by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Justice is currently in the Wapello County Jail and was charged with first-degree kidnapping and grooming in Wapello County and second-degree sexual abuse in Jefferson County.
