It will be a busy weekend of wrestling in the UNI-Dome which plays hosts to the National Duals beginning Saturday morning. Iowa, Iowa State and U-N-I will take part in the division one tournament and the event will also feature competition in division two and three, NAIA, junior college and there is also a women’s bracket.

U-N-I coach Brad Penrith says they have a lot of work to do, not just in wrestling, but in setting up mats and other things. Penrith says this event has become a showcase for college wrestling. He says it will be a weekend that people will remember for a long time, especially with the “fiery” dual recently between Iowa and Oklahoma State.

Penrith says serving as host gives everyone some added duties but they are glad to be at home as you don’t have to ride a bus across the country. Plus, he says you get an Iowa friendly crowd that supports U-N-I when the Hawks aren’t wrestling. With enough support, the Panthers are hoping this event will stay in Cedar Valley permanently. Advance tickets are the highest they’ve ever been for the National Duals.
