An elderly couple from Vincent was killed in a car-train crash Wednesday afternoon near Fort Dodge. Troopers identify the victims as 87-year-old Harry Ginkens and his 77-year-old wife, Bette. Harry Ginkens was driving his car west on Webster County road D-14 when it collided with a northbound Union Pacific train at a crossing. The impact sent the Ginkens’ car 1200 feet. There was minimal damage to the freight train and no crew members were hurt.
