After closing out a standout career at Northern Iowa, Ryan Brunner is making the adjustment to professional baseball. Brunner is playing with the Lowell Spinners, the class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. He says it’s more laid back than college baseball, and real fun.Brunner says the biggest adjustment from college to the pros is going from aluminum to wood bats. He says you get enough at-bats to make the adjustment.Brunner did not take long to make an impact as he homered in his second professional at-bat. He says he was just trying to make contact, and was pleased to see the ball leave the park.Brunner was named a first team All American by the coaches after being named the Missouri Valley Conference M-V-P this past season in which U-N-I advanced to the N-C-A-A regionals.
