The major league all-star game is history and tonight the triple-a all-starswho hope to make it to the big leagues some day take center stage. Two IowaCubs players, shortstop Jose Nieves and pitcher Doug Creek, will participatein tonight’s game in New Orleans. I-Cubs spokesman Brett Dolan says playingin the triple-A all-star game isn’t as big a deal to the players as the majorleague game, but it does give have positives for players.The all-star games give the players three days off and Dolan says that’s thething most triple-A players enjoy the most.Dolan says the break is also appreciated by the I-Cubs administration.Dolan says the I-Cubs management is hoping to overcome some early seasonweather problems in the second half of the season.The triple-A all-star game is tonight at 6:30.
