Travel is NOT being recommended for northern Iowa residents in the Osagearea and throughout Mitchell County, at least until the sun is up. Thewarning comes from Ray Huftalin, county emergency management director.The Mason City area got between 4 and 6 inches of rain overnight, promptingmore flash flooding in an area that’s already waterlogged. He says somebridges are gone now — that were there yesterday.The body of 85-year old Benton Heitz was found Tuesday…the Rudd man isbelieved to be the only person to die in the flooding. Heitz died Monday ashe tried to drive across a flooded Floyd County road.
