Investigators are still trying to determine the extent of a fish kill inLinn County near Coggon. The kill was reported Tuesday, but Department ofNatural Resources spokesman Mick Klemesrud (klem-ess-rood) says they arestill counting dead fish, but says it’s a massive kill.Klemesrud says the kill was caused by manure runoff from two feedlots. Thekill is unique because it’s believed to be the first fish kill this year.He says a variety of factors have kept the number of fish kills down.Klemesrud says they should have an estimate of the number of fish killed andtheir value by Friday or Saturday.
