A public hearing in Dubuque tonight is designed to inform northeasternIowans about the appropriate use of public funds and equipment by politicalcandidates. Kay Williams is executive director of the Iowa Ethics andCampaign Disclosure Board, which is co-sponsoring the hearing.She says tonight’s hearing is part of a series of meetings on the subjectsince there have been so many questions on the issue.Williams says the auditor has sent out letters to all candidates and anyonewho might be involved in a campaign to get them to attend the meetings.Tonight’s public hearing is scheduled for 7:30 at the Dubuque CountyCourthouse. The 10th and final meeting in the series is tentatively plannedfor next month in Des Moines.
