Football semifinals start today

The semifinal round of the state high school football playoffs begin this morning in the UNI-Dome with action in Class 1A. The second game pits seventh ranked Algona Garrigan against fourth ranked Southern Cal. This a rematch of a regular season finale won by Southern Cal. Garrigan coach Mart Wadle says his team needs to be more mentally prepared.Wadle says in a rematch like this, there may be a little mental edge having lost the first game.Garrigan won its quarterfinal round game in the Dome and Wadle says having played there might be an advantage.
