A northeast Iowa town is trying to get money back from a policeman who took a job in the big city. Jeff Tyler worked as a part-time police officer in Jesup, and the town paid to put him through the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Tyler resigned in July to take a job with Waterloo’s police department. City leaders in Jesup are threatening to revoke his officer certification if he doesn’t repay the money the city spent sending him to the police academy.
