As we get closer to the holidays, the Department of Economic Development is encouraging Iowans to give holiday guests a “taste of Iowa”. That’s the state trademark being given to companies whose products are produced in the state.Spokeswoman Cindy Jordan says over 65 manufacturers are using the “Taste of Iowa” logo on their products.Jordan says the promotion is designed to encourage people to serve holiday meals that are made in Iowa.To be allowed to use the “Taste of Iowa” emblem, a product must be more than 51-percent grown, produced or manufactured in the state.
