A Des Moines-based dairy reports egg-cellent sales of its traditional holiday drink. Anderson-Erickson Dairy has used the same egg nog recipe for more than 40 years. The creamy drink is now distributed statewide and into Missouri and Illinois. Dairy spokeswoman Jeanette Dove-Deerr says it takes about three-thousand cows to produce enough cream for the production run of 800-thousand servings.Dove-Deerr says A-E only sells the yellow beverage from late October through December 31st — but she says there are ways of getting around that by freezing the eggnog for up to one year.A-E is among Iowa’s largest, independent dairies.
