As the clock winds down on the time left for shopping, blood centers across the state are asking you to set aside time to donate blood. Jackie Cacciatore of the Central Iowa Blood Center says this is a slow time of the year for donations. She says things start to drop off in November.She says it’s a problem for all blood centers as people get busier and don’t take time to donate.Cacciatore says the Central Iowa Blood Center needs to see over 12-hundred people each week just to keep up with supplies. The Center supplies blood to 27 Iowa hospitals.
