Many eastern Iowans who want their M-T-V –and other cable channels– will have to pay more for it in the new year. A-T-and-T Cable is raising rates in bills that are going out this week for service to Clinton-area customers next month. Spokeswoman Deborah Blume at the Des Moines office says the rate adjustments reflect the higher cost of doing business, saying rates in some areas haven’t gone up in three years.Cable rates will also go up January first for customers in Cedar Rapids, North Liberty, Mount Vernon and West Branch — due to higher programming expenses, according to the cable company.
