A possible problem forced the temporary switch-off yesterday at Iowa’s only nuclear power plant. The Duane Arnold plant near Palo shut down automatically while technicians were doing routine maintenance work inside the plant. Alliant Energy officials say there was no danger to the technicians or the public. The plant should be running again in a week or so after thorough inspections.
