Pork Producers from across the state are in Des Moines today for the annual meeting of the Iowa Pork Producers Association. Today’s meeting is followed by the 38th annual Pork Congress Wednesday and Thursday at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Peter Theodore, communication director for Iowa Pork Producers Association, says there is a lot on the schedule for the Pork Congress.Nearly 400 companies will have exhibits on hand and there will be 19 educational seminars.They will also name the 2000 pork queen. Theodore said another one of the highlights of the three-day event will be the annual meeting of the board of directors which also begins today.The Pork Congress continues through Thursday.
