Reminiscent of the O-J Simpson trial, a Monticello man who was cleared of murder charges three years ago was ordered Wednesday to pay six-million dollars to the victim’s family in a civil trial. 23-year-old Travis Jemison was acquitted in the Kathy Jo Bolken murder in 1997 due to a lack of evidence. Bolken’s father filed the civil suit on behalf of his 9-year-old grandson seeking damages for the loss.
