The insurance capitol of the midwest is growing a little more in that field. Locally-based Allied Insurance is unveiling plans to build a new home office in Des Moines.Rick Phillips is a spokesman for Allied says the five-story building is a 137-million dollar project and it’ll house some 16-hundred-50 workers. Phillips say the move will create hundreds of new jobs in Iowa’s capitol city.Des Moines is home to more than 50 insurance companies and is third in the world in that industry behind Hartford, Connecticut & London, England.
