One legislator wants to cut down on those annoying calls from telemarketers.Representative Dave Schrader, a democrat from Monroe, is sponsoring a billwhich would force telemarketers to put one operator on each dialing line. He says telemarketers now call several lines and hang up on all lines as soon as one line answers.Schrader says it’s rude and in some cases harassment to have a telemarketerring up 12 different people, then disconnect 11 lines when one personanswers.Schrader also plans to offer legislation which would give Iowans the abilityto block all telemarketing calls.Schrader is the leader of House democrats.
