The Internal Revenue Service is answering tax questions today in Mason City with one of its monthly “Problem Solving” days. The deadline for filing federal taxes is just over two weeks away, but I-R-S spokesperson Donna Magozzi says many of the questions are about previous tax years. The most common questions are about tax bills that people are unable to settle. Magozzi says it’s a popular service. She says some people use the day to finally settle old tax debts. The I-R-S agents will be answering questions until 6 o’clock tonight. The problem solving days are held every month on a rotating basis between Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
