The Iowa State Cyclones get set for their Big-12 opener on Saturday when they visit Baylor. The Cyclones are 3-0 and have been idle since a September 16th victory over Iowa.Iowa State coach Dan McCarney, who says this is a big game for the Cyclones.With conference play beginning, McCarney says it’s time to take the next step. McCarney says they were 3-0 last year heading into conference play and went on to win only one more game. Baylor coach Kevin Steele says at 2-1 his team has made a lot of progress. He says they’re trying to learn how to win and he says they’re making progress.Steele is concerned about the Cyclones’ experience as Baylor starts nine freshman and sophomores.Guy Tomcheck made his first start at quarterback for Baylor and connected on 20 of 28 passes for 223-yards and three touchdowns. Steele says it was an outstanding debut.
