A Mount Pleasant athlete has brought home a bronze medal from the Olympics in Sydney. Twenty-three-year-old Rod White competed in archery at the Olympics, and returned to Mount Pleasant late Tuesday after spending four weeks in Sydney. He and his U-S archery teammates captured the bronze. It’s his second Olympic medal. White earned gold in team archery competition four years ago in Atlanta. White, who finished 26th in individual competition in this year’s Olympics, says he’ll probably continue competing on the international level. White grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Mount Pleasant two years ago when he married a woman who grew up in Mount Pleasant.
