Residents of a University of Iowa dormitory had a fright overnight. An explosive device was found in a courtyard outside Currier Hall about 12:30 a-m. It forced the evacuation of 11-hundred students. The device was made up of several Roman candles and a bottle rocket-like projectile wired to a timer. A Johnson County bomb squad deactivated the device. No one was injured. No arrests have been made. Students were allowed to return to their dorm rooms after about an hour.
