Good pitching is normally seen as essential for winning baseball. Grand View College is trying to buck that trend. The Vikings have put up good offensive stats all season, but last weekend posted staggering numbers in winning an N-A-I-A regional. The team was 90 for 180 in the four-game series and hit 20 home runs.Which is the season average for the Vikings and coach Lou Yacanich. Grand View will visit Indiana Tech this week for a best-of-three series and the winner will advance to the N-A-I-A World Series. Yacanich hopes the bats stay hot. He says he hopes they haven’t used all their runs after scoring 76 in four games.Yacanich says that kind of run support gives the pitchers plenty of confidence.
