A convicted embezzler will leave jail after serving less than a year and a half of a ten-year sentence. A state parole board has approved releasing a former Linn County facilities manager who’s been serving a ten-year prison term. Mike Strope has been at the Oakdale prison in Johnson County since May 2000, serving time for stealing almost 180 -thousand dollars in taxpayer money.
