The northern Iowa superintendent accused of shoplifting has pleaded not guilty.A trial date of October 16th is set for Dr. James Jess, the school administrator for both the CAL (Coulter, Alexander and Latimer) and Dows school districts. Jess is accused of stealing an American flag and a picture from a discount store in Clear Lake back on July 6th. The items had a combined value of about 50 bucks. On Monday, Jess entered a not guilty plea to fifth degree theft charges. If found guilty, Jess could get 30 days in jail or a 100-dollar fine.
