If you’re driving Highway 61 along Iowa’s eastern border today, watch your speed. More than 120 officers from the State Patrol, sheriff’s departments and city cops are conducting a special enforcement effort today.Lieutenant Frank Fisher of the Iowa State Highway Patrol is based in Davenport. Fisher says the patrol got together with the counties and cities along Highway 61 and thought it would build camaraderie among the law enforcement community if they worked on the project together.The sweep for speeders started at nine this morning and runs ’til nine this evening. Radar guns are at the ready along Highway 61 from Keokuk to Dubuque.
