A survey shows Quad City residents are willing to pay more to spend less time trying to cross the Mississippi River. The survey by Northern Illinois University showed Quad City residents are willing to pay a higher sales tax if it paid for another bridge between Iowa and Illinois. Seventy-one-percent of the people surveyed said they would vote for a half-cent sales tax to support a new bridge between Bettendorf and East Moline, Illinois. Five communities and two county governments paid for the survey.
