Hundreds of prayer services were held across the state last night, including an ecumenical service in Iowa’s capitol city. Catholic Bishop Joseph Charron said religious leaders of various faiths gathered for the prayer service to share a common bond: their unity of faith. He said he hopes the prayers offer some comfort to those who have been impacted by the violence.
