One Iowa broker says the most successful investors aren’t those who were poised this morning to sell. Investment advisor Jim Fisher in Manchester says those who do well in the long run are the investors who ride out times of uncertainty in the markets.Success depends on keeping perspective, he says, and says it’s harder than being optimistic when the news is good but pessimistic when it’s bad. During past national tragedies, though none was this bad, the market’s resilient and has recovered. This morning’s market opened lower, though that had been expected, given the soft state of the economy and big airline layoffs blamed on both terrorism fears and the recent slowdown in corporate travel.
