Two people from the eastern Iowa town of Eldridge are accused of identity theft.Police say 25-year-old Heather McBride and 24-year-old Michael Jacobson have admitted to stealing someone else’s identity, then using it to buy sixty-five hundred dollars worth of computer equipment over the Internet. Police say the crime took place in January of 2001 but the victim just became aware of it and reported it to police January third. After an investigation, McBride and Jacobson were brought in January ninth for questioning. Police say they admitted the theft at that time, and the computer equipment has been recovered.
