The state’s latest gas-price review finds little change at the pump. State fuel-price analyst David Downing says during the survey, gas was selling anywhere from a dollar-two to a buck-16. It’s come down in the days since the survey, which found the average price was a dollar-10 a gallon. Downing says a couple factors have combined to hold gas prices down. The economic slowdown all over the world means more imports for the U-S and refineries have been running with no troubles. Downing still is predicting that gas prices will start to rise when the spring driving and vacation season approaches. With vehicles today at low 1985 fuel-economy standards, and our travel becoming farther and faster, Downing says we’ll use more and see prices high. But right now supplies are ample and prices will remain where they are for another month or two.
