Republican U-S Senate candidate Bill Salier says Congressman Greg Ganske, who’s also running for the Senate, refuses to debate him.Salier says Ganske is avoiding anything he possibly can. Ganske says Salier’s off-the-mark. Ganske says the two men have made plenty of joint appearances already. Ganske says he’ll schedule formal debates after Salier submits his petition signatures putting his name on the June primary ballot. Salier says Ganske’s not a conservative contrast to Harkin because Ganske, for example, got a D-minus from the N-R-A, virtually identical to the “F” Harkin got from the gun-rights group. Ganske says Salier’s misrepresenting his voting record, as he says he considers himself a compassionate conservative. Salier made his comments on Iowa Public Television.
