Trial’s underway for one of two men accused of killing an elderly north-central Iowa man at his home late last year. 12 Hamilton County jurors plus one alternate will hear testimony beginning today in the trial of 20-year-old Craig Shelton of Goldfield. Opening statements by attorney will be presented in Hamilton County District Court in Webster City. Sheldon is charged with the murder and robbery of Dale Kelling of Corwith last November. Another man, 20-year-old Jason Hively of Clarion, is being separately for the same death. He waived his right to a speedy trial. Up to 30 witnesses are expected to testify in the trial, which is expected to continue into next week.
