Banking officials warn of a new scam involving a phony I-R-S form.Grinnell State Bank president Dave Jones says it appears a “real pro” put this scam together, as it really looks like a legitimate document asking folks to fax back all sorts of personal information, but they’re really trying to steal your identity. Jones says you should be cautious about sharing such personal information via fax or phone. He also warns customers to keep close tabs on their mail, as identity thieves often steal credit card applications.
