Northwestern College will play in the N-A-I-A national softball tournament this week which begins Thursday in Decatur, Alabama. Northwestern advanced to the national tournament by claiming the region four title this past week in Nebraska with an 8-1 win over Midland of Nebraska. Northwestern coach Melanie Mason says her team has been on a roll since they faced elimination in the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament. They eventually won that tournament by claiming three straight victories. Mason says they’ve done it through sheer determination and will power. Mason says her team took it to another level last weekend in the regional. Mason says the players felt this was possible before the season began.Northwestern plays Ohio Dominican in Friday’s opening round.
