Iowa Congressman part of panel reviewing U-S Intelligence operations

An Iowa Congressman is among the select group of lawmakers meeting behind closed doors to review U-S intelligence gathering failures before and after the September 11th attacks. Congressman Leonard Boswell, a democrat from Davis City, is a member of the House Intelligence Committee.Boswell says the time for “turf protection” in the F-B-I and C-I-A is over. He says they made some progress and he says the investigation should reveal the problems and help them make changes for the future.Boswell, who was a career military officer, says it shouldn’t be a witch hunt.Boswell says the focus should be on improving the system, not finding a scapegoat. The House and Senate Intelligence Committees are meeting on the fourth floor of the Capitol in a soundproof room that’s guarded by police. Boswell’s the only Iowan who’s part of the joint inquiry.
