The nation’s Catholic Bishops have voted to bar sexually abusive clergy from face-to-face contact with parishioners. Tom Chapman, a spokesman for the Des Moines Catholic Diocese says the policy accomplishes what people want accomplished, it protects the people. Chapman says new local review boards will examine the cases, and will kick out priests who are found guilty of sexually-abusing a minor. In addition, the Diocese will report any alleged abuse involving a minor to proper authorities.
