Union workers at the Electrolux plant in Webster City approved a new, three-year contract over the weekend. Seventeen hundred people work at the plant, which makes washers and dryers. Contract talks started in April, a tentative agreement was struck Friday and rank-and-file members of the United Auto Workers local 442 approved it Saturday evening.
