An Oxford Junction man accused of killing his father has made a plea agreement in hopes of avoiding a life sentence. 22-year-old Nathan Watson was scheduled to stand trial Monday in Scott County District Court, but instead pleaded guilty Friday to three charges including involuntary manslaughter. The agreement means Watson will serve about six more years in prison for a total of about 20 years. Watson was earlier convicted of killing his father, 42-year-old Craig “Rocky” Chase, in the school bus the two had been living in, back in 1998, but the conviction was overturned after a judge ruled that one of his attorneys had a conflict of interest. Sentencing’s set to take place July 19.
