Help wanted — 10,000 workers for Iowa’s voting places. Secretary of State Chet Culver says the 2,000 precincts should be well-staffed on
election day as full staffing helps things go smoothly, and prevents long waits and confusion. He says each county has programs that will not only
give training, but pay the workers for their time at the polls as well as their mileage. The only requirements for the job: you must be a registered
voter in Iowa. You can even sign up online.
