Brett Holgorsen begins his bid to turn the football program at Iowa Wesleyan around. Holgorsen will rely on a host of newcomers as they look to rebound from last season’s 1-9 record. Holgorsen says the top priority since taking the job in January has been to boost the talent level. He says they’ve kept that ahead of organizing booster clubs and other things and says the recruiting has paid off. The most notable newcomer is quarterback D. Bryant, who threw for more than 24-hundred yards last season as the starting quarterback at Duke. Holgorsen expects the program to make progress this season but has not set a goal for number of wins.Iowa Wesleyan opens the season against Peru State of Nebraska on September 14th.
