The Iowa State Cyclones prepare for their Big-12 opener this weekend on the heels of a near upset of third-ranked Florida State. Seneca Wallace was stopped at the one on the game’s final play as the Cyclones second half rally came up short in a 38-31 loss. Iowa State had trailed 31-7 in the second quarter. Coach Dan McCarney says his team grew up and matured, and he feels bad for his team. McCarney hopes his team is not satisfied by coming close, as he says they won’t accept losing and if they do, the team is in trouble.Wallace nearly tied the game on the next to last play and looked like he may have reached the endzone on a dive. Wallace says he thought he was in.Wallace says a sluggish start turned out to be costly.
