The 85th annual Clay County Fair opens today in Spencer. Fair manager Phil Hurst says the theme for the 2002 edition is “Generations of Fun.”Hurst says there are more exhibitors than ever before at the Fair. Organizers had to add an additional tent for the livestock.The week-long event will mark September 11th with a nighttime display of lights to signify the two towers of the World Trade Center which fell after the terrorist attacks.Clint Black and Lynard Skynard are among the grandstand acts. A new ag learning center opens on the fairgrounds.
